How to Pack Packages for Safe Delivery
Learn the best practices for packing items to ensure safe delivery.
Choosing the Right Box
Select a box that's slightly larger than your item to allow for cushioning. Use new or sturdy boxes - avoid damaged or weak boxes. For heavy items, use double-walled corrugated boxes.
Cushioning Materials
Use bubble wrap for fragile items, packing peanuts or air pillows to fill voids, crumpled paper for light cushioning, and foam inserts for electronics. The item should not move when the box is shaken.
Fragile Items
Wrap each fragile item individually. Place heavier items at the bottom. Use dividers between multiple fragile items. Mark the box clearly as 'FRAGILE' on all sides.
Sealing the Package
Use strong packing tape (at least 2 inches wide). Apply tape in an H-pattern on top and bottom. Reinforce all edges and corners. Don't use duct tape or masking tape.
Labeling
Place shipping labels on the top of the box. Include sender and recipient details clearly. Remove or cover old labels or barcodes. Consider placing a duplicate label inside the box.
Pro Tips
